Surugadai Memorial Hall was built in commemoration of the centenary celebrations of Chuo University in 1988, on the site of the former Chuo University Hall in Kanda-Surugadai in Chiyoda-ku. Comprising seven floors above ground and two floors below, the hall contains 29 rooms in all, ranging from a conference hall with capacity for 360 people to smaller discussion rooms with seating for about 10, used for both education and research. With the Korakuen and Ichigaya Campuses, it plays an effective role as a venue for interaction between students, alumni, and staff, and a focus for artistic and cultural activities in the city. Its facilities can also be rented out for study and lectures by extramural corporations, groups, and foundations.
The hall contains a coffee shop and a restaurant, so that it is also a place for relaxation, refreshment, and parties.
