The Chuo University Library comprises a number of libraries, each of which has its own collection designed to serve distinct needs and offers its own services to users. On the Tama Campus, the library comprises the Central Library, 14 libraries for each major in the Faculty of Letters, the Policy Studies Library, and the Graduate Library; on the Korakuen Campus, the Science and Engineering Library and 11 libraries in each department, and Business School Library/Graduate Library for Humanities and Social Sciences. On the Ichigaya Campus, the library comprises the Ichigaya Campus Library. The library has a total collection of 2 million volumes.Information on the collection is stored on a database and can be searched in a matter of seconds from terminals connected to the library's system CHOIS (CHuo Online Information System). The variety of books in the collection reflects Chuo University's history. There is an extensive range of legal references, Japanese and foreign government gazettes, law reports, and parliamentary publications, as well as a large collection of rare Japanese and foreign books. Another signifi cant feature of the Library is that the latest documents from a variety of international institutions can be accessed. Intoroductory note of the Library
